2025 Tacoma Sister Cities Youth Video Contest

THEME: Agents of Change

Are you 13–22 and passionate about making a difference? Create a short video (3-minutes or less) on the theme Agents of Change in My Community.

Celebrate someone making an impact or share the change you dream of creating.

Selected videos will shine on the big screen at the Tacoma Sister Cities International Film Festival.

This is your chance to inspire and be inspired. We can’t wait to see your story!

Eligibility

Tacoma

All Tacoma entrants must reside in and/or attend school in Tacoma Washington.

  • Group A Tacoma: 13-15 yrs on Feb. 14, 2025

  • Group B Tacoma: 16-18 yrs on Feb. 14, 2025

  • Group C Tacoma: 19-22 yrs on Feb. 14, 2025

International

All International entrants must reside in and/or attend school in one of Tacoma’s Sister or Friendship Cities.

  • Group A International: 13-15 yrs on Feb. 14, 2025

  • Group B International: 16-18 yrs on Feb. 14, 2025

  • Group C International: 19-22 yrs on Feb. 14, 2025

Guidelines for the Tacoma Sister Cities Youth Video Contest

Video requirements

1. Length: Your video should be 3 minutes or less. Include a 100-word description explaining why you made the video.

2. Content: Ensure your video is suitable for all ages. Avoid swearing, drug use, violent or graphic content, and sexually suggestive scenes.

3. Format: Submit your video as an MP4 file in a 16:9 aspect ratio.

4. Subtitles: Include English language captions in your video.

1. Deadline: Submit your video by February 14, 2025.

2. Entry Limit: You can only enter one age category.

Compliance and originality

1. Criteria: All music and copyrighted material used in the video must be properly licensed and attributed.

2. Original Work: Your video must be your own original work and design.

3. Plagiarism: Plagiarism, which is defined as using the ideas or words of another without proper attribution, is not permitted.

4. Release Agreement: Make sure to check the Release Agreement for more details.

Legal and ethical considerations

1. Copyright and Trademark: Do not use copyrighted or trademarked images.

2. Respect Rights: Your video must not defame or invade the rights of any person, living or dead.

2025 Timeline

February 14: Deadline for Entries

March 7: Judges Evaluate Entries

March 10: Winners notified

March 20: Videos shown and Local Prizes Awarded as part of TSC Film Festival
